Summer Report

After several consecutive storm days, March is coming in and flipping the weather script. Clouds are moving out as the bluebirds are moving in - cold and clear weather so far this morning with moderate winds tapering off as the day goes on. February went out with a bang, leaving us a recent storm total of 20” – though yesterday’s howlin winds have shapeshifted areas of the mountain creating stashes and waves of powder that are almost double that. The slopes held on to last night's chill ensuring the recent snowfall remains low density - groomers are looking beyond prime with carpets of squeaky, packed powder corduroy out there this morning.  For today we’ll see a rise in temperatures to a high of about 30 and as things having eased up on all fronts, we are back to running our full operations. Maintenance is hustling to get Summit back in shape after yesterday's tyrannical storm, so be sure to stay tuned regarding its projected late morning debut! Calm, bluebird powder days are the epic conditions we dream about...and today it's a reality.

While the roads may have cleared in some areas, sections nearing the mountain are still considerably slippery and snow covered; please come prepared for winter storm conditions by driving a properly equipped vehicle and taking it easy on your way up. Also, tree wells are always a factor but even more so following a storm. Educate yourself on tree well safety and always ski or ride with a partner off piste. Plan ahead, be patient and most importantly, enjoy yourself when you get here!
