Mountain Information

With over 3,000 acres of lift served terrain, you won’t want to pass up a trip to the highest ski resort in Oregon and Washington, Mt. Bachelor. Located on the eastern flanks of Oregon’s Central Cascades, Mt. Bachelor is known for its light and dry snow, variety of terrain, family friendliness and long seasons. Bill Healy founded Mt Bachelor December 19th, 1958 with just a rope tow and single lift and it has since grown to be one of the largest ski resorts in the US. Mt. Bachelor hosts a wide variety of terrain from skiing big lines 360 degrees off the top to hiking the cone, skiing the trees and riding above timberline. Not only is Mt Bachelor a great place for expert skiers but also a great place to learn a snow sport or take the family. Carrousel, our free beginners lift, will get you up the hill for your first time or you can choose from one of many lesson packages. Conveniently located just 22 miles west of Bend, Mt Bachelor's season is one of the longest starting in November and lasting well into May. Surrounded by the tall hemlocks and pines of the Deschutes National Forest and the breath taking views of the Sisters and others Cascade peaks, you are sure to have that mountain experience you crave at Mt Bachelor. We will see you on the slopes!
