Downhill skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skate and classical skiing are active winter sports that can be enjoyed for a lifetime and provide health, wellness and social benefits. Few, if any other collection of sports provide the combined opportunities of elevating the well being of mind, body and soul while at the same time making it easy to socialize and connect with friends and family – all in a spectacular mountain environment. These are sports that anyone with the desire and determination can learn in a relatively short period of time. The question is, are you ready to learn how?
At Mt. Bachelor we are rededicating our efforts to create more snow sports participants and lifelong enthusiasts. We have built our snowsports programs to offer more ways to start the learning process based on you, your goals, your learning style and frankly, how committed you are at the onset to learning the sport. We are offering a new line up of programs that present a progression of learning experiences, whether you want to take it slow, over time, or if you wish to immerse yourself in learning over a weekend or vacation. Our mission at Mt. Bachelor is to build a culture that values beginners and is passionate about helping them become lifelong skiers, riders and Nordic skiers.

Beginner Workshops
Just looking for a good ol’ ski/ride lesson? Our beginner workshops are simple, helpful, and will get you on your way to enjoying skiing and riding. You can get them with a ticket included or not. We spend 2 hours showing you the basics and then you are off to explore and learn at your own pace.

Carrousel Beginner Area
Have you heard people say that they have not tried skiing because they do not want to pay to try it? Well tell them they are crazy. Here at Mt. Bachelor we offer our Carrousel learning chairlift FREE on weekends and holidays. You’ll see boyfriends teaching girlfriends, dads teaching kids, kids teaching dads, dogs teaching cats, well..
Tips and Tools Lessons
We also offer a Tips and Tools program where we staff the Carrousel learning slope with our teaching pros to help you out while you take advantage of the free lift. This lesson program is a maximum of 60 minutes and it includes your rental equipment.
Tips & Tools Lessons are offered at the following times on weekends and holidays for ages 6 & up. Please plan on arriving at the Sunrise Rental Shop at least 1 hour prior to the lesson start time. Lessons start at 10am, 11am, and 1pm.

New this year at Mt. Bachelor is the Ski or Ride in 5 Program. There’s no better way to guarantee that this will be the year you become a skier or snowboarder. For just $199 we’re offering 5 lessons on dates of your choice, we’re including the lift tickets and rentals, and we’re hooking you up after the fact with either a free season pass or 12-Day Pass depending on your age. You’ll also get pass discounts in future years. Prepare to be reborn. Mt. Bachelor is serious about expanding the ranks of skiers and riders and this special introductory offer for those new to snowsports is designed for that purpose.
This program is designed EXCLUSIVELY for those NEW TO SNOWSPORTS. If you are familiar with skiing or riding and can get on chairlifts, know about the mountain, or have done it before, this program is not for you. We will be assessing this at the outset of the program. Go to Sunrise Ski School to sign up starting Jan. 1st. If you are deemed to be already a snowsports participant by your instructor, we will excuse you from the program and offer you a refund for the remainder of the program cost.
