Halfday Lessons
Just looking for a good ol’ ski/ride lesson? Our beginner workshops are simple, helpful, and will get you on your way to enjoying skiing and riding. You can get them with a ticket included or not. We spend 2 hours showing you the basics and then you are off to explore and learn at your own pace.
West Village
- If you have an advanced reservation, a Snowsport School representative will have your child’s ticket at the entrance of our Snowsport School staging area. If your child needs rentals you will need to purchase rentals in our rental department.
- If your child needs rentals and does not have an advanced reservation, go directly to the rental department. Give yourself at least an hour prior to your chosen start time if rentals are needed with a little more time during our busy holiday periods. The rental department will complete your registration process and provide you with rentals and your child’s lesson ticket. Rentals are available for $15 for all participants in lessons.
- If you DO NOT need rentals and DO NOT have an advanced reservation, begin your registration process at our Snowsport Sales Yurt (single yurt located east of the Pine Martin lift).
Sunrise Lodge
All sales, registration, and rentals for Half Day Beginner workshops and Next Step workshops are available in our newly renovated Snowsport School/Rental Center. This is located in the lower level of the Sunrise Loge just east of the breezeway entrance. Sorry Little Rippers and Max 5 are only available at West Village.
Tips for success
- Make sure your child has plenty of sleep the night before. A good night’s sleep is imperative to your child’s success.
- Have your child start his or her day with a nutritious breakfast. While we do have snacks available for students, your child’s favorite snack in their pocket can go a long way.
- Dress your child in layers with a waterproof outermost layer. Try to use a “wicking” material as a base layer such as wool or polypropylene. Cotton as a base layer is not recommended due to its inability to breathe or keep you warm. Goggles for snow days and sunglasses on milder days are strongly suggested. As always, sunscreen is a must.
- Give yourself extra time to arrive for your lesson. We do have winter driving conditions and on busy days, traffic can be slow.
