Mt. Bachelor's Eastside, served by the Rainbow, Carrousel and Sunrise Express lifts, offers beginner, novice and intermediate terrain. On the sunny side of the mountain, this area is more protected during periods of stormy weather. The powder in the bowls south of the Rainbow Chair can last for days! The Sunrise Lodge, with its own parking area, is the ideal place for families to start their day. And the Carrousel beginner chairlift is FREE to ride! |
The highest chairlift in the Pacific Northwest, Mt. Bachelor's Summit Express accesses more terrain itself than most other ski areas have in total! The Summit Backside is an in-bounds "side-country" experience - totally natural, and a powder paradise. With descents possible in every compass direction from the top, you can pick your line based on the sun angle, wind direction and exposure. No shortage of variety, the mountain skis differently every day with each change of the weather! For those less adventurous souls who still seek a wide-open, upper mountain experience, there is usually at least one top-to-bottom groomed run. |

The frontside of Mt. Bachelor, served by the Pine Marten, Skyliner and Sunshine Accelerator high-speed quad lifts, is the central snow-riding pod of terrain. From gentle beginner runs & long intermediate cruisers to advanced bump runs and powder staches, the frontside features a large variety. The frontside is also home to Bachelor Parks - voted the #1 Terrain Park in the Pacific Northwest! |
Mt. Bachelor's Westside is where powder-hounds head on storm days. This is the steeper side of the mountain, featuring runs that are nearly 2-miles long! Several intermediate runs are groomed nightly on the Westside, but it's the tree skiing that is most popular here. Climbing 2,365 vertical feet, the Northwest Express lift has the 3rd-largest vertical rise out of all the chairlifts in North America! That's 2,365 vertical feet of powder, starting with steep, open bowls and transistioning to perfectly-spaced trees in a hemlock forest. And at 1,000 acres, this area has more terrain than many other ski areas have in total! |
