FREE Interpretive Tours with a Forest Service Naturalist

The USFS Snowshoe and Ski/Ride with a Naturalist programs have concluded for the 2012-2013 season. Thanks to the volunteers who made the programs very successful!

FREE Snowshoe Tours
Join a US Forest Service Naturalist for FREE 90 minute interpretive tours. Learn about winter ecology at Mt Bachelor and the geology of Central Oregon, the Deschutes National Forest watershed and the plants and animals found throughout the area.
Please dress for the weather; snowshoes are provided and no previous experience is required. We do ask that participants be older than 8 years old and wear snowboots and warm winter clothing. No dogs. No infants in packs.
PROGRAM DATES
December 22, 2012 - January 6, 2013... DAILY (No tours on Christmas Day or New Year's Day)
January 6, 2013 - March 31, 2013... WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS and SCHOOL VACATIONS
TIME
10:00am and 1:30pm. No reservations required.
WHERE
Please check-in 10-15 minutes prior to time of tour at the USFS snowshoe hut just outside the Guest Services building in West Village.
COST
FREE - snowshoes are provided, however, guests may wear their own if preferred.

FREE Ski or Ride with a Forest Service Naturalist
Ski or ride with a US Forest Service Naturalist for two runs on groomed, intermediate (blue square) trails. Learn about the forest, geology, wildlife and more! Intermediate skiers and riders please.

Meet at the TOP of the Pine Marten Express lift just before 2:00pm
