Kids Daily Programs

NOTE - Group Snowsports programs have concluded for the 2012-2013 season.
Private lessons - by advance appointment - will continue to be available through Sunday, May 26.

Our kids programs are designed to give kids the best on mountain experience possible.  We guarantee small groups, great food, and loads of fun. All Full Day programs include lift ticket, lesson, and lunch.  Equipment rental can be added for only $21 ($23 Holidays), with helmets available for $6. Reservations are highly recommended.

Mountain Rippers

Skiers

Ages 3 ½ to 5 years

Mountain Rippers is a skiing program for kids ages 3 ½ to 5 years. Mt. Bachelor guarantees a maximum group size of three, which means more personal attention and a guarantee that, when ready, they will always ride lifts with their instructor. Mountain Rippers is staffed by specific instructors who specialize in working with young children. The program includes lift ticket, on snow instruction, equipment rental and lunch (for full day guests). Morning and afternoon half day lessons are available. The Mountain Ripper & Rider Center is located in the lower level of West Village Lodge. Hours are 9:00am to 3:45pm. (8:30am opening during busy holiday periods.)

Participating children must be willing to ski with their group and be ready to separate from their parents.

Available at West Village only.

Reservations are strongly recommended. Walk-ins are accommodated if space is available. Please arrive at the Mountain Ripper & Rider Center by 9:00am (8:30am during holiday periods) in order to ensure that your child and his/her classmates begin their lesson on time. If you arrive later than 9:00am, your child may not receive his/her full lesson.

All Day Program

NEW This Season, Mt. Bachelor extends its popular Mountain Rippers program to young snowboarders! The Mountain Riders Half-Day snowboard program will be offered on weekends and holidays only, beginning December 22nd.

Mt. Signature Start

Skiers

Ages 3 ½ to 5 years

Signature Start includes a two-hour Mountain Ripper lesson, a half-day of supervised indoor childcare, lunch and rental equipment. This is the best learning experience for your young skier who needs an all day program but only a half day lesson. Class size is guaranteed to be no more than three and taught by instructors who specialize in working with young children. Signature Start begins at Otter Mountain Childcare in the lower level of West Village Lodge. (Childcare hours are 8:30am to 3:45pm.) This all day program is available with either a morning ski lesson (10:00am to 12:00pm) or an afternoon ski lesson (1:00pm to 3:00pm).

All Day Mountain Camp

Skiers & Snowboarders

Ages 6 to 14 years

All Day Mountain Camp is designed for skiers & snowboarders ages 6 to 14 years and is for all ability levels. The guaranteed small class size of no more than 7 students combined with a select group of experienced instructors will lead to huge improvement on the slopes.  This program includes a "Kids Choice" lunch in most on-mountain restaurants and a lift ticket. (Lift Ticket is NOT included in the "Kids Ski 3" program.)

Available at West Village only - 9:30am to 3:30pm.

Sales and Reservations

  • Reservations for this all day program are available online or by calling Mt. Bachelor Reservations at 800.829.2442.
  • If your child needs rental equipment, go directly to the Sales & Service Center on the lower level of the Mountain Gateway building at West Village. Plan to arrive at least one hour prior to your selected lesson time if rentals are needed. (During busy holiday periods, we recommend arriving 90 minutes prior to the lesson time.) The Sales & Service Center opens at 8:30am. Sales Center staff will complete the registration process and provide the rental equipment & lift ticket.
  • If your child does NOT need rental equipment, proceed to the Snowsports School Sales yurt on the snow between the Pine Marten Express and Sunshine Accelerator lifts and next to the Otter Mountain Carpet. During busy holiday periods, we suggest arriving at the sales yurt no later than 8:45am.

Our Kids Ski/Ride Sessions are simple, helpful, and will either help get them started or tuned up for all mountain skiing and riding. Session times are 10:00am to 12:00pm or 1:00 to 3:00pm. NOTE: Registration for a Kids Ski/Ride Session is only available in-person at the mountain. Sign-up at any Snowsports Sales location (Sales & Service Center - Mountain Gateway building at West Village, the Snowsports Sales yurt on the snow at West Village or at Sunrise Rentals). Please arrive one-hour prior to preferred session time.

Bachelor Parks Freeride Camp

Skiers & Snowboarders

Ages 9 to 15 years

Bachelor Parks Freeride Camp is designed for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders 9-15 years old who want to spend the day with our trained Freeride staff.  Camp participants will ride the Short Sands terrain park, the half-pipe, new mini-pipe, and our "learn-to-rail-slide" features.  The focus of the Freeride Camp is on terrain park safety, introduction to different terrain features, and Freeride fun on the natural terrain features unique to Mt. Bachelor! A media component is also built-in to the Camp; participants will have access to Mt. Bachelor's GoPro Mountain Media Lab to edit videos of their Camp experience.

"Kids Ski 3" Program

NOTE - This program has concluded for the 2012-2013 season

The Kids Ski 3 Snowsports School program is designed for families taking advantage of the Kids Ski FREE 12 & under multi-day tickets! This program is available all season long with no blackout dates. Advance booking is required by December 21, 2012 for all Kids Ski 3 lessons between December 22, 2012 and January 6, 2013. After January 6, 2013, advance booking is recommended but not required. Call 800.829.2442 to book and mention the Kids Ski 3 lesson package.

3 of 5 full day All Day Mountain Camp ski or snowboard lessons for $360

  • Available for ages 6 to 12 years - skiers and snowboarders
  • Includes all day lesson and lunch, all participants must have lift ticket or Season Pass
  • Add daily ski or snowboard rentals for $20 and helmet rentals for $6

3 of 5 day Mountain Rippers lessons for $360

    • Available for ages 3 ½ to 5 years - skiers only
    • Includes all day lesson, equipment rentals and lunch, and FREE lift ticket

      Save on children's ski and snowboard lessons with Kids Ski 3 in conjunction with the Kids Ski FREE 12 & under complimentary tickets! Kids have the same flexibility on lessons as the Kids Ski FREE vouchers and can take full day lessons any 3 of 5 days. 


      Cancellation Policy

      All Snowsports programs (and Childcare) have a 24-hour Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel or change a lesson or childcare reservation, please contact us at least 24 hours prior to the lesson or child care date. Cancellations or changes within 24 hours of reservation date are subject to a $25 fee. Cancellations or no shows the day of the reservations will forfeit 100% of the reservation product cost. To cancel or change a reservation 24 hours or more in advance of your reservation, contact us at 800.829.2442.


      Minor Helmet Requirement

      Mt. Bachelor strives to be an industry leader in Mountain Safety. To further this goal we are requiring students 17 and under in any Snowsports School lesson program to wear ski and snowboard specific helmets during lessons. For your convenience Mt. Bachelor offers helmets for rent or sale. Additional information about helmets and Snowsports can be found on the NSAA’s website at lidsonkids.org.

      Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation

      Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation (MBSEF) is a non profit organization whose guiding philosophy is to encourage academic achievement and promote the positive values of competitive Alpine, Cross Country Skiing, Snowboarding, and Cycling.

      Joining the MBSEF is the next step for a young skier or snowboarder who is serious about skill development and competitive training after he/she has progressed through Mt. Bachelor's Snowsports School.

      As a member club of the United States Ski & Snowboard Association, all MBSEF programs are organized following the guidelines that have been established by USSA for skier development. The goals of MBSEF are to provide the opportunity for introductory to advanced levels of training and competition, assist in the healthy development of all participants through the pursuit of athletic, academic and personal goals, and to encourage academic achievement and promote the positive values developed through competitive sports.
