Mt. Bachelor strives to be an industry leader in Mountain Safety. To further this goal we are requiring students 17 and under in any Snowsports School lesson program to wear ski and snowboard specific helmets during lessons. For your convenience Mt. Bachelor offers helmets for rent or sale. Additional information about helmets and Snowsports can be found on the NSAA’s website at lidsonkids.org. Rental Helmets are available for $6 to students 17 and under in a Snowsports School lesson.
Half-day Lessons
Half-day Lesson are available daily through Sunday, April 15th.
Just looking for a good old ski/ride lesson? Our beginner workshops are simple, helpful, and will get your child on their way to enjoying skiing and riding. You can get them with a ticket included or not. We spend 2 hours showing the basics and then students are off to explore and learn at their own pace.
West Village
- If your child needs rentals and does not have an advanced reservation, go directly to the rental department. Give yourself at least an hour prior to your chosen start time if rentals are needed, with a little more time during our busy holiday periods. The rental department will complete your registration process and provide you with rentals and your child’s lesson ticket. Rentals are available for $20 ($22 during holiday periods) and Helmet Rentals are available for $6 for all participants in lessons.
Sunrise Lodge
- All sales, registration, and rentals for Half Day Beginner workshops and Next Step workshops are available in our newly renovated Snowsports School/Rental Center. This is located in the lower level of the Sunrise Lodge just east of the breezeway entrance. Please note: Mountain Rippers and All Day Mountain Camp are only available at West Village.
Tips for success
- Make sure your child has plenty of sleep the night before. A good night’s sleep is imperative to your child’s success.
- Have your child start his or her day with a nutritious breakfast. While we do have snacks available for students, your child’s favorite snack in their pocket can go a long way towards making the day successful.
- Dress your child in layers, with waterproof outer wear on last. Try to use a "wicking" material as a base layer such as wool or polypropylene. Cotton as a base layer is not recommended due to its inability to breathe and stay dry. Goggles for snow days and sunglasses on milder days or strongly suggested. As always, sunscreen is a must.
- Give yourself extra time to arrive on the mountain. We do have winter driving conditions and on busy days, traffic can be slower.
- If your child needs rentals, go directly to the rental department. Plan at least an hour prior to your chosen start time if rentals are needed, with a little more time during our busy holiday periods. The rental department will complete your registration process and provide you with rentals and your child’s lesson ticket. Rentals are available for $20 and Rental Helmets are available for $6 for all participants in lessons.
