MT BACHELOR ANNOUNCES SPRING SEASON OPERATIONAL PLANS AND PRODUCTS

May 17 closing date, additional late-season terrain, two tiered spring pass, return of spring camps and more

Thursday afternoon at an all-employee meeting Dave Rathbun, Mt. Bachelor President and General Manager, announced a variety of spring products and programs that will continue through the mountain’s scheduled closing date of May 17.  Included in the announcement was confirmation of the return of the US Ski Team to train at the mountain and an open invitation to other commercial ski and snowboard camps to do the same.  Also, Mt. Bachelor's highly touted Chipper Terrain Park and Slopestyle "pro line" will be enhanced and expanded to create a spring super park.  Combined, the return of alpine race training and build-out of a super park will provide Mt. Bachelor guests with access to three high speed lifts from April 20 to May 17 and greatly expanded terrain options beyond those offered last year.

Mt. Bachelor is also expanding its spring pass options.  Option one is a $129 all ages pass valid from March 30 to close; option two costs $89 for all ages and is valid from April 20 to close.  Passes are on sale now on the website or in person at the mountain pass office.  Other values available this spring include $25 Charity Week vouchers valid one-day midweek from April 6-17 and Ski FREE Stay FREE packages valid through April 19 via bookings with Mt. Bachelor's lodging partners. The benefiting organizations for April Charity Weeks are United Way, Girl and Boy Scouts, Oregon Adaptive Sports, and Volunteers in Medicine. Guests are urged to contact the distributing organizations for vouchers that offer $25 skiing benefiting the charities.

In addition to race training and the super park, Mt. Bachelor is working in conjunction with its lodging partners, brew pubs and restaurants to invite resort workers, ski town residents, and "core" skiers and riders across the country to visit Bend and Mt. Bachelor for the first "Spring BendOR."  The last week of April and first two weeks of May are a time period when nearly every ski and mountain resort are closed or closing, while Mt. Bachelor remains open with the best weather of the season, historical 100+ inch base depths, and occasional powder days.  Visitors at this time can take advantage of the Spring Pass, enjoy a wide range of outdoor recreation for which Central Oregon is famous, in addition to skiing and riding; promotions at local breweries and restaurants, and lodging with Mt. Bachelor's partner properties at highly discounted rates.  Additional Spring BendOR information and reservations will be available at www.mtbachelor.com.

"We are pleased to announce this spring plan which will offer a wider variety of terrain than last year, better access and service from our main base lodge in West Village, longer spring operating hours, the return of race camps, and new promotions designed to keep spring operations sustainable," said Dave Rathbun, President and General Manager.
