Mt. Bachelor's 4,318 acres are located entirely within the Deschutes National Forest and surrounded by 2 million acres of forested wilderness. While being in such a natural environment allows for scenic beauty rarely visible elsewhere, it also means that Mt. Bachelor isn't able to offer overnight accommodations at the base of the ski area itself.

Learn more about our two authentic base communities of Bend and Sunriver below:
For a thousand good reasons Bend, Oregon is widely known as the premier outdoor playground of the United States. But a lesser known element of the Bend Experience is the city’s extraordinary abundance of craft beer – incredibly delicious craft beer! In our little mountain town of 82,000 people, Bend and surrounding communities are home to nearly 30 craft breweries (and growing), many within walking distance of one another.
Welcome to Central Oregon, home to the growing cities of Bend, Sisters and the resort community of Sunriver. Here you will find some of the finest places for paddling, hiking, cycling, golfing and dining al fresco in the summer. In winter, areas of the High Desert turn into a snowy playground with skiing, snowboarding, sledding and ice skating. It doesn't hurt that, whatever the season, Central Oregon is home to some of the country's top craft breweries, unique boutiques for tax-free shopping, world-class restaurants and accommodations to please every lifestyle and budget.
