Scenic Chairlift Rides
TAKE IN THE VIEWS ON A SCENIC CHAIRLIFT RIDE
A scenic chairlift ride at Mt. Bachelor is a summer activity the whole family can enjoy! Take in the sights of the Three Sisters peaks, Broken Top and the many Cascade Lakes. Experience views of over one million acres of pristine, undeveloped land. As summer progresses, the mountain exposes ancient lava flows, wildflowers and year-round snowfields. Your ride begins at the 6,300 foot elevation in our West Village base area and takes you on a relaxing ride to the Pine Marten Lodge perched at 7,775 feet.
You may catch a glimpse of a Pine Marten while enjoying the different species of evergreen trees, including Mountain Hemlock, Lodgepole, and White Bark Pines. Seek out the remaining snowfields leftover from the winter season and enjoy the cool breeze.
Once you reach the top, what you do is up to you! You can:
- Enjoy lunch, dinner, snacks and beverages - socially distanced inside or on the deck - at Pine Marten Lodge
- Hike the trails on the mountain or to the year-round snowfields
- Throw a round of disc golf on our 18 hole course
Mt. Bachelor's operating schedule is weather dependent so please check our Summer Conditions Report before you drive to the mountain.
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2020 — In accordance with Governor Brown’s statewide face mask requirement for indoor spaces, Mt. Bachelor is also requiring all guests wear face masks/coverings in all lift lines and while loading/exiting lifts.

WHAT TO EXPECT — COVID-19 SUMMER OPERATIONS
What to expect when biking, hiking, dining or enjoying the new Mt. Bachelor ZipTour zip line at Mt. Bachelor during summer 2020? We’re thrilled to open for our passholders and guests, with no current capacity constraints or required reservations beyond activities that typically require reservations (E.g. Sunset Dinner, zip line, Gravity Camps), but all guests need to be aware of new protocol and policies in place to maintain safety and physical distancing guidelines. Personal responsibility is a core action required to successfully maintain summer operations. Guests are expected to adhere to all guidelines set in place by Mt. Bachelor or will be asked to leave the resort and risk future pass suspension or issuance of a Notice of Exclusion / Trespass. We ask that everyone Be Kind, Be Smart and Be Respectful. See ya this summer
Reservations are only required for Gravity Bike Camps, ZipTour zip line (unless day of space is available) and Sunset Dinners. Advance reservations for RV camping, mountain bikes and equipment are encouraged, otherwise equipment is first-come, first-serve.
Guests can choose to ride solo, two to a chair or guests that “arrived together may ride together”. Bikes will be loaded by guests, and at the top of chairlift bikes will be placed in a bike rack by Mt. Bachelor staff, who will be wearing gloves. Guests will notice additional signage encouraging physical distancing and lift operations expectations.
Our new ZipTour zip line is dual-line, with lines 6 feet 9 inches apart. Ample signage will guide guests and indicate 6 feet physical distancing. Guests will be required to wear masks on all zip line platforms. ZipTour guides wear masks when interacting with guests and wear gloves when interacting with trolleys. Each Zip line guest helmet, harnesses and trolley will be cleaned between uses with Terra Nova approved products.
We’re pleased to offer food & beverage options at multiple outlets in the West Village base area and Pine Marten Lodge. Clearing Rock Bar, Scapolo’s and Sunset Dinners give a range of counter service and sit down dining options for guests. Reservations for Sunset dinners are required through OpenTable.
Sanitizer will be readily available for guests and payment and ordering practices have changed to enable physical distancing and minimize contact. Mt. Bachelor’s food and beverage outlets follow CDC and State of Oregon guidelines in regards to physical distancing, and all of our food and beverage staff have state regulated food handler’s certifications and have been given training in regards to COVID 19 precautions.
Gravity Sports offers 6,000 square feet of retail space for guests to browse winter close-out products and pick up the latest summer offerings. Limited capacity may be enforced to ensure 6 feet of physical distancing. Guests will notice plexiglass shields at open registers. Per the Oregon Health Authority, some retail items may be restricted from being tried on before purchase.
Food and Beverage will be available in both West Village and Pine Marten Lodge (see Food & Beverage detailed information). Restrooms will be available in all open lodges, and hand washing is available both inside bathrooms and at outdoor washing stations. Bathrooms will be cleaned according to CDC and OHA guidelines.
Parking in the summer will all be based out of West Village. West Village will be set up the same as winter operations with the “plaza” set up as a foot traffic area. Guests will notice logs placed to prevent cars from entering the plaza combined with signage will allow guests to park themselves in a physically distant manner. ADA parking spots will be designated near tubing, which is the same location as winter operations.
We highly encourage advance reservation for RV powered hook-ups. All reservations, powered and non-powered, are done online by guests at www.mtbachelor.com/info/parking/ . Powered RV spaces will now stagger at the electrical pedestals alternating to south and north like the checkerboard parking plan. All non-powered RV camping will be self-serve, as usual. Campers will notice portable hand washing stations that will be located near the plaza for anyone using either the garbage bins or the shower token machine.
