PRIVATE LESSONS
Progress your on-snow skills with family and friends as you gain access to the best terrain and secret stashes, and skip the lift lines to spend more time on snow! Mt. Bachelor's private lessons provide the best value and greatest opportunity for success on the mountain for skiers and snowboarders of any ability. They are also a great way to have your whole family learn together as a group. The instructors selected to teach private lessons are certified by the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and have the highest level of experience. Available as half-day or full-day lessons.
Rentals + Lift Tickets are not included in the purchase of a lesson.

Private Lessons allow for up to 5 total participants at no additional cost. Additional participants beyond five will need to purchase a separate Private Lesson. All additional lesson participants must be of the same discipline (either all skiers or all snowboarders), be assigned to the session prior to the lesson start date, and have a signed waiver on file to participate.
Please note that coaching and terrain selection will always be based on the ability of the least skilled participant in the lesson group. In order to get the most value out of your session, we highly recommend that all members of your lesson are of a similar ability level.
WHAT TO KNOW & WHERE TO GO:
Private lesson space is limited, so we highly recommend booking in advance! Before signing-up, please review our ability levels page so you know which level to enroll in.
ABILITY LEVELS & WHAT TO EXPECT
- Both Full-Day and Half-Day Private Lessons are offered daily. Full-Day lessons begin as early as 9:00 a.m. with the opportunity to learn until the lifts close at 4:00 p.m., and Half-Day lessons at either 9:00 a.m. or 12:45 p.m., based on the start time selected at the time of booking.
- Private lessons are available to children ages 3 and up.
- Children ages 7 and under that are not accompanied by a parent or guardian must be ready to separate from their parents and need to be self-sufficient in wearing and adjusting all of their own personal attire, including; gloves / mittens, helmets, and goggles.
- Lessons do not include a lift ticket or rental equipment.
- Lessons are open to all ability levels, but to get the most value out of your lesson experience we highly recommend that all members of your lesson are of a similar ability level. Our instructors will always teach to the lowest ability in the lesson group — meaning, coaching content and terrain selection will be based on the least skilled participant's proficiency. So if you are an expert-level skier/rider taking a lesson with your beginner-level friend or family member, please be aware that the instruction will be catered toward their level and you will be limited to easy terrain only for the duration of your lesson.
- We do not mix skiers and snowboarders in private lessons regardless of ability level.
- Winter lessons meet at the West Village Ski and Ride School area (by the two yurts and Chipmunk Magic Carpet), unless otherwise arranged with your instructor.
