Central Oregon is a mecca for outdoor exploration year-round and in the winter months, Nordic skiing dominates the outdoor recreation scene as one of the top activities in the area. With endless trail networks to choose from and top-tier grooming throughout the region, the local Nordic population is growing rapidly.
Although Mt. Bachelor stands among the nation's best for its alpine skiing and snowboarding, the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center and trail network offer a world-class experience that goes toe to toe with some of the best Nordic destinations. Whether you are new to the sport or an elite-level Nordic athlete, we can accommodate all with our extensive trail network, educated and passionate staff, and robust event schedule.
Check out the list below for reasons why Mt. Bachelor's Nordic Center is in a class of its own.

Home to the Longest Nordic Season in North America
With 56km of pristinely groomed trails in the high alpine Deschutes National Forest, the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center holds the impressive title of having the longest Nordic season in North America. Typically opening in late November to early December, a Nordic season here can last all the way to June for roughly 6 months of skiing. And with varying levels of terrain, beginner to expert, you can have never stepped foot in a pair of Nordic boots in November and be a seasoned pro by June!

Nordic Lodge
The Mt. Bachelor Nordic Lodge is tucked in the front right corner of the West Village Parking Lot. The quaint log-cabin-style building is the starting point for all Mt. Bachelor Nordic adventures. Inside you will find a ticket office manned with a friendly Nordic staff member, the XC Cafe (home to some of the best food in the entire resort), a fully stocked retail store carrying the top brands in the industry, a full rental fleet of boots, skis, poles, and even snowshoes, and a huge fireplace that is great for warming up after a lap or relaxing next to while enjoying your food and drinks from the Cafe. Even if you are alpine skiing or riding for the day, the Nordic Center is worth stopping in for a freshly baked pie and a hot drink.
