The Mt. Bachelor app is a convenient way to stay connected, find information at your fingertips and track your ski days, all season long.
To set up an account, download the Mt. Bachelor App from either the iPhone App Store or Google Play store. Open the app on your phone and follow the prompts to choose your location sharing and push notification settings. Once you reach to “Join the Community,” select the name you’d like to use and type in your email address.
Pro Tip: Your account and stats are tied to your email address. Please use a unique email address. This is the email that will receive daily, monthly, and seasonal recaps if you choose to track your stats.
Start by re-downloading the Mt. Bachelor App on your new phone and logging in using the same email address you’ve used previously. If you are missing stats, before you begin to track on your new phone:
Your data should reappear in the app. Once the data has appeared, you can start tracking as usual.
Pro Tip: Pro Tip: The restore feature should only be utilized when you are migrating to a new phone. It cannot restore data that seems to be missing from a single day of tracking.
To change your name and photo on the leaderboards or edit your email address:
During the ski and ride season, our public leaderboard displays users who rank in the top 25 for days skied, vertical feet tracked, and number of lifts ridden. You can choose to see the top 25 for the day, week, month, or entire season.
To toggle your leaderboard visibility to On, follow these steps:
Pro Tip: this leaderboard is public to anyone else using the Mt. Bachelor app! That means if you’re skipping school or work or ditching friends on a powder day – consider using initials or pseudonym to stay under the radar.
Create a private leaderboard to see how you stack up again friends and family throughout the season! To do so:
Pro Tip: Private Leaderboard stats begin when a user joins the leaderboard, it does not import their full season of stats.
Accepting location permissions allows you to see your current location on the mountain as well as track your vertical feet, lifts ridden and more.
There are 4 different types of notifications:
To change what notification settings you receive:
Once you are logged in to the app:
You can add people to your tracking session and see where they are on the mountain in real time:
Once your friend(s) have joined the tracking session, they will appear on the map.
After starting to track, the Mt. Bachelor App will record the lifts, trails, distance, hours, vertical feet and difficulty of trails you ski or ride during the day.
The vertical feet skied information is obtained from the altimeter within each unique phone. Differences are expected and normal, especially for users using different makes and models of phones. If the difference is significant, please contact the Mt. Bachelor team.
This means that you have likely been tracking since yesterday (or a previous day), and your session has “expired”. It's an easy fix! Just tap Stop Tracking and then tap Start Tracking again to make a new group or tracking session.
You may need to adjust your phone’s battery and location settings to ensure the most accurate tracking.
Battery: Make sure your iPhone is not on Low Power Mode, as your phone conserves power by reducing GPS signal quality or frequency of updates. If you are in Low Power Mode, your battery may be yellow. If you begin to track in Low Power Mode, you will also receive a pop-up asking you to turn it off. To turn it off:

Lock the App on the Device: Samsung devices (especially the Galaxy series) recently received an update that intermittently shuts down tracking. A user can prevent this by “locking” the app on the device.
You can earn achievements and badges for tracking in the app, all season long. To see which achievements you earned, achievements that are in progress, or the full list of achievements:
For a trail to count on the app, you must ski/ride the majority of a run. If you exit a run early, it may not count towards an achievement. If you are sure you skied the full run, please contact the Mt. Bachelor team.
New this season, you can earn achievement awards that unlock discounts across the mountain!
Once you earn a discount/reward at the mountain, you will receive a push notification to let you know the award is unlocked (if you have push notifications enabled).
