Winter is almost here! It's time to pull out your jacket, gather your gear, and check out our helpful tips below to get ready for the season.
GET YOUR GEAR READY
Inspect your gear. Make sure there are no rips or tears in your outer layers, your helmet doesn't have any cracks and the padding is still in good shape, and your gloves/mittens are still in one piece.
Check the bases of your skis or snowboard. Make sure you didn't hit any rocks last spring.
Start the season with sharp edges and fresh wax. Do a tune yourself or drop your gear off with the pros.
Our Tune Shopis open each weekend before the season starts, 10:00 am - 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Need New Gear?
The Mt. Bachelor Sports Shop is stocked with new top-of-the-line equipment, including everything you need to hit the slopes: skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, outerwear, and accessories. Don't miss deep discounts on last year's gear!
Not looking to buy brand-new gear? Mt. Bachelor offers Season-Long Rentals, a great option for growing kids, beginners, or folks new to town.
Check Your Pass
If you have a pass from previous seasons, make sure it is active. We encourage the reuse of passes so check your pockets to see if you still have one. To see if your pass is still active, use our Pass Checker tool.
Sign the Mt. Bachelor waiver or season pass agreement - you will not be able to load the lift if haven't finished requirements to activate your pass
Make sure you have an updated photo - photos are required on all passes. You will not be able to load the lift without a current photo attached to your pass. Sign into your Mt. Bachelor account to update your photo.
Still need your pass? Buy one here so you're set for the season.

Book Early and Save
Booking a lift ticket online is always cheaper than the window rate.
If you already know the days you are going to ski/ride this season, purchase your tickets ahead of time and save.
The earlier you book, the more you save!
If you are coming for a vacation and want flexibility on what days you ski or ride, check out our Multi-Day Ticket options that allow you to pick your shred and rest days throughout your stay.
With no blackout dates, the 4-Day Pass is a great option for skiers and riders to use at their leisure throughout the season.
Hike Up and Get Some Early Season Turns
When the snow flies in October and November, grab your skins, snowshoes, or simply boot-pack up the designated uphill route to get some turns in before the mountain opens for the season.
Remember that Mt. Bachelor is uncontrolled and un-patrolled out of season so you would be shredding at your own risk.
Also, please be respectful of mountain operations teams getting the resort ready for the season. Stay on the designated route and do not drop into closed terrain.
FREE Uphill passes are required to use the uphill route during the operating season, and will be available online before Opening Day.
Switch to Winter Tires
Driving conditions on Cascade Lakes Highway can be variable during a powder day storm.
Make sure you have proper tires on your vehicle to safely make it up, and back down.
If your car is not equipped to make the journey, start making plans to carpool with your ski and ride buddies. You can also consider taking the Mt. Bachelor shuttle, provided by CET, on storm days. These cheap shuttles will guarantee safe passage and have racks on the back for skis and snowboards.
